Strategy in Action
Every project starts with a question: How do we create clarity, build connection, and bring people together around something meaningful?

These case studies highlight the moments where strategy met execution, transforming ideas into experiences, communities, and initiatives that people could genuinely engage with and support.

THE CHALLENGE
What problem were we solving?
As TEA's emerging professional community continued to grow, NextGen needed more than individual programs, it needed a clear framework for engagement, leadership, and long-term sustainability. With multiple stakeholders involved, including volunteers, committee leaders, HQ staff, academic partners, and industry professionals, there was an opportunity to create greater alignment around priorities, responsibilities, and participant experiences.
THE APPROACH
What was the thought process? What choices were needed and why?
Rather than focusing on individual initiatives in isolation, I worked with committee leadership to develop a year-long strategic framework that connected programs, communications, partnerships, and volunteer efforts under a shared vision.

The framework established clear priorities, timelines, ownership structures, and success measures across key areas including mentorship, academic outreach, committee operations, leadership development, and community engagement. Supporting tools, documentation, and resource hubs were also created to help volunteers navigate responsibilities and maintain continuity from year to year.

The goal was to move from reactive program management toward a more intentional and scalable community ecosystem.

KEY INSIGHT
The main lesson I've learned and reflected on.
"
Too often, students and early-career professionals are treated as a separate audience rather than an essential part of an industry's future, leading to disconnected efforts and missed opportunities for collaboration. The most rewarding part of this project wasn't any single program, it was helping create the structure, relationships, and shared sense of ownership that can make a community sustainable. While the work is still evolving, I'm proud to have helped lay a foundation that will continue to support future leaders as they learn, contribute, and grow.
